  Irish version of this page

Céad mile fáilte! It’s my pleasure to share with you the unique landscape of Connemara - the local lore, the little known sandy beaches, the turquoise bays, the flora and fauna from marshy bog to mountain tops; to reveal to you the culture and ancient heritage of its people and landscapes.

The small village of Carna, in the heart of the Connemara Gaeltacht, is where I grew up.  It may be a small village but it has had a big influence on Irish culture and heritage. It is home to many well-known sean-nós singers, dancers and musicians. The Carna area is also renowned for its traditional boat builders and sail makers. Growing up here and being immersed in these traditions and customs has

inspired me to share this unique way of life our many visitors. From the thrill of sailing on Galway hooker boats, riding horses on long empty    beaches, to the simple pleasure of  picking winkles and blackberries, Connemara has something for everybody, young and old.    Come and explore Connemara with me where we can walk the deserted island of Fínis, forage for winkles at low tide on the shores of Muighinis or     enjoy a quiet pint with the locals after a hike through the  Twelve Bens. Seo libh, siúil siar go Conamara!
